Good morning! Just took my first final exam and I think I did marvelous! Phew! Relief...and one step closer to graduation. Ok I talked about my first weird obsession with ceilings in a previous post.
Now for weird obsession #2: Bookends. I LOVE BOOKENDS!
I especially love animal figurine bookends so I decided to make my own. Yessss, another DIY. I got my inspiration for this project from the blog mad in crafts but we did ours a little differently.
Guess how much my bookends cost me! 4 bucks.
I got my cute little elephants for $1 each...don't you love them?
All I had to do was spray paint them with gold spray paint and I started to get the look I was going for. [which would be the "i'm really heavy, not hollow," look]
After I painted them I'm in the process of glueing together two pieces of wood for the "L" shaped ends. Then I'm glueing the elephants on so they look like they are pushing and holding up the books with their tusks.
For all you know they could be 10 pounds each of solid brass! I think they are going to turn out pretty cool once my elephants are on the wood "L"and get up a little higher. I'm really happy with the outcome!
What do you think? What animal would you make your bookends? Target had a whole bin of different plastic animals to choose from!
-Color Scheme'd gift guide via Tomboy Style
-Loving Mr. Kate's mustard yellow pants! [gimme those]
-As a matter of fact gimme those orange pants, too.
-Gift wrap with what you already have! [look around you]
-The world's most awesome tree house [in my honest opinion]
Good morning! Ihadn't been to Target in a while so I stopped in yesterday to get a few stocking stuffers and holy moly was I happy that I did.

1.I've been crushing over all the fur pillows in every one of my favorite design shows like these below from Nate Berkusdesign &Ryan Korban:
But fur pillows can be CRAZY expensive like anywhere from $400-$800BUT THEN, I rounded the corner at Target and what did I see? Glorious fur pillows at a whopping $24.99.SOLD.
2.I also spotted these sunglasses for $12.99. I love the shape, tortoise shell frame & blue tint lenses! It's always good to have a cheap pair of sunglasses when you don't want to lose the expensive ones.
3. If you read my blog you know that I've been looking for a cute pair of duck boots. Welp, you can't beat $34.99...& these are pretty stinkin' cute. Get yourself a pair, here.
This movie, "Sarah's Key," just became available at Red Box and it has hundreds of great reviews and 5 star ratings!
It's a true story based in Paris, July 1942: Sarah, a ten-year old girl, is taken with her parents by the French police as they go door-to-door arresting Jewish families in the middle of the night. Desperate to protect her younger brother, Sarah locks him in a bedroom cupboard -- their secret hiding place -- and promises to come back for him as soon as they are released. Sixty seven years later: Sarah's story intertwines with that of Julia Jarmond, an American journalist investigating the roundup. In her research, Julia stumbles onto a trail of secrets that link her to Sarah, and to questions about her own romantic future.

Were getting a cold front this week,
Floridians don't know how to handle weather below 60 degrees [at least I don't]
Happy Monday!
Genuinely,
Shop till you drop.
We're headed out shopping at the outlet mall and it's freaking FREEZING here in North Georgia. The #1 thing on my Black Friday list is a wide brimmed wool-felt hat. I've been dying for one. Wish me luck!
Good afternoon from Georgia! Every Thanksgiving my family and I head up to our house in the Georgia mountains to escape The Sunshine State for some real fall weather and family time. This is my favorite time of year to be here because of all the leaves on the ground and beautiful mountain views.
Here's a picture off our back porch...
Not a shabby way to greet the day with a big cup of pumpkin spice coffee...
My dad has been getting some firewood together for tonight because the temp is going to drop to 37 degrees which is painfully cold for me [I'm such a cold weather wimp].
My Mom and I gave Mason a bath so he's clean for all the Thanksgiving company tomorrow. He was NOT a happy camper.
Does your family keep the wishbone from the turkey?? We ALWAYS do. We let it sit on the counter to dry over night then the next morning usually the first two to get to it make a wish and pull.
I also have some morning musings to share! I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends. I have so so much to be grateful for. REMEMBER THIS:

I'm a total scatterbrain this Monday morning... when your body wakes you up at 7am for no reason that tends to happen. I stumbled on this handbag collection and fell in love; YADOUGA. Founded in 2010 with a spring collection for 2012 in the works now. Started by designer Kirsten Yadouga who went to design school at the age of 16, landed her first job with Versace, and then moved on to Madewell and Reed Krakoff. I mean...I trust her, don't you?
ANYWAYS, Scatterbraining onto a new topic. I've been on a bit of a movie spree. When I get sidetracked from studying I tend to venture off into online movie land. I finally saw "Like Crazy" and absolutely adored it. I'd buy it for sure. Also saw "Water For Elephants" and then re-watched it with my mom..another one to buy.
This movie is next on my MUST SEE list:
For those of us just trying to keep our heads above water...
